2007 Business and Design Landscape
Here’s an incomplete draft of my take on the 2007 Business and Design Landscape (pdf). As an update to my previous 2005 / 2006 versions of the business design playing field, this includes not just consulting firms, but also schools, events, publications, and corporate groups.
It also loses the rating scale of business vs. design mindshare - that proved problematic as people tried to find some quantitative measurement on what was essentially my own off the cuff thinking. I’ve included personal favorites in some places - this is more often because I know these folks, than a deep judement of who is better.
It’s far from complete - the usefulness, for me, is as a barometer, a b+d zeitgeist…not a detailed topographic map of the terrain. What (or who) would you add? Drop? Move? I’d particularly like suggestions for service design firms, events, and elements from outside N. America.
