Upcoming Business Design events - Nov 2005
A while back, I wondered about the next business design events. I wish I’d known earlier about these two concurrent events from leading business design schools Rotman and Case Western:
Designing Information and Organizations with a Positive Lens, Nov 11-12 in Cleveland, OH. This workshop is organized the Weatherhead business school at Case Western, a pioneer in design thinking for business. The last workshop produced the stellar book Managing as Designing. Thanks to Weatherhead’s Youngjin Yoo for the heads up. This looks like an intensive workshop, with a strong academic slant but solid business design foundations. Deep, but I’m not sure about pragmatics.
Get Creative! How to Build Innovative Companies from Rotman Business School in Toronto on Nov 11. Rotman is bringing together 7 innovation gurus and Bruce Nussbaum to discuss innovation for the day. Spendy at $750 CDN, and from my last Rotman experience, not much depth for people who are already immersed in business and design, but a great place to meet business people who want to know more.
If anyone is attending either event, I’d love to hear how they go - I’m off to DUX this week, and will connect with some business design folks in the Bay Area.
