Business and Design Competitive Landscape
So in looking at this space, I’ve been thinking about the firms that embrace design thinking and integrate business and design to move beyond simple form and function. I’ve started with consulting firms - so here’s a very rough take on how some consulting firms stack up on the business and design front. These are all my very subjective impressions, mostly from industry press, conferences, and the firm’s own involvement in the business and design space. Disclosure: I do know people at Management Innovation Group, Critical Mass, IBM, Adaptive Path, Molecular, and Behavior fairly well. There are many many firms that could land on this map, but I wanted to have a simple representative picture instead of a complex comprehensive one. The point is to wrap my head around who is really contributing to advancing business and design…I’m sure I’ve missed some firms, so I’ve opened comments on this post.
I’m also looking at companies like P&G, Target, FedEx and schools like Rotman, Stanford, Case, and IID - that will have to come for another time.
